Honoured to be among this year's RGSL Student Excellence award recipients! A heartfelt thank you to the Riga Graduate School of Law for recognising our dedication and hard work. I also had the privilege of participating in the RGSL 4th International Student Research Paper Conference to share and discuss my research findings with faculty members and fellow students. Grateful for the experience and the opportunity to share my research!

[Lecture] João Paulo Bachur – Rules, Rule-Following, and Implicit Normativity: A New Paradigm for Legal Theory?❗️ The event is open to public❗️Thursday, November 16, 202312 CETIFDT (Kraljice Natalije 45, IV floor)Organised by #IFDT #CriticLabWorking language: EnglishThis lecture will call for a reconsideration of the notions of rule, rule following and normativity in law and in a more general sense. There is not only one mode of normativity, but different normativity regimes that relate to different types of rules. Normativity is not an exclusively philosophical issue but requires learning and acquiring competencies.Lecturer: João Paulo Bachur (Freie Universität Berlin, Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory)More about the event on: https://ifdt.bg.ac.rs/hoy5 #legaltheory #normativity #rulefollowing

I am thrilled to share that I have completed the enriching Summer Study Program on 'European Constitutional Law: National Identities Between Unity and Plurality' at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Humboldt University of Berlin) from June to July 2023. And my independently completed essay on the subject of liberal democracy got great feedback.💡 Key Themes Explored:The course was structured around four enlightening thematic parts:1: Modern Liberal Democratic Nation-State: Unveiling the basic features and constitutional commitments of a modern nation-state.2:Foundations of the EU: Scrutinizing the governing principles, values, and sui generis nature of the European Union as a supranational entity.3: National Constitutional Identity: Examining this notion from both national and European perspectives.4: Resistance and Dissent: Exploring legal theory to find parallels with the intricate relationship between Member States and the EU.A heartfelt thanks to our lecturer, Mr. Jakob Gasperin Wischhoff, whose expertise and guidance made the complex subject matter accessible and engaging. His insights have been invaluable in shaping our understanding of European Constitutional Law.Many thanks to the Humboldt University of Berlin for providing an environment that fosters intellectual growth and critical thinking. This journey has undoubtedly been a milestone in my academic and professional development.#EuropeanLaw #ConstitutionalLaw #HumboldtUniversity #LegalEducation #EUIntegration #eulaw #summerschool
