Before we watch the video, I want to answer some common questions about edible cookie dough. I also want to tell you about the safety of edible cookie dough.

Is Edible Cookie Dough Safe to Eat?

When someone shares a recipe for “edible” cookie dough, that generally indicates that it will be safe to eat. The two issues with eating standard cookie dough is raw egg and raw flour. Most people think of the raw egg, but many don’t know that you aren’t supposed to eat raw flour. In our recipe and video, I’ll show you how to use heat treated flour to make sure it’s no longer raw, thus leaving you with delicious and safe edible gluten free cookie dough.

Do you need to bake edible cookie dough?

No, you don’t need to bake the dough. However, we are going to heat the flour to make sure your cookie dough is safe to eat.

Can you heat up edible cookie dough?

Yes! If after making your top 8 free edible cookie dough you decide you’d rather have a traditional cookie, you can absolutely bake it in the oven.

Does edible cookie dough need to be refrigerated?

Technically no, but we suggest keeping it in the fridge. This will extend the shelf life and keep it on the safer side. Whilst dairy free butter is a perishable item (which is why it’s sold in the refrigerator section), it can sit at room temperature for quite some time safely. The same is true of milk-based butters. Even still, for best results, keep your dough in the fridge.

If you don’t like the taste of cold, take your edible cookie dough out of the fridge 30 – 60 minutes before enjoying it.

How do you fix dry gluten free cookie dough?

Duh duh dunnnnnn. There are so many problems you can run into when baking gluten free. Dry goods, goods with poor texture, gummy goods, dense goods, it can all happen.
